What you will be doing 

As our UX Lead you will be responsible for shaping the design vision together with the design team but also work hands-on as a UX desginer to design engaging e-commerce user experience for our well-known clients. You will be involved in plenty of cross-functional work, such as identifying and concreting customer and end-user needs.

As Senior UX Designer you will:

  • Work collaboratively with other designers, developers and product owners to build user-friendly digital products and services for a range of clients.
  • Work on cross platform applications to develop user experiences covering mobile phones, tablets, computers and interactive screens.
  • Have regularly contact with clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops with Clients and project members.
  • Create user journeys, concepts and wireframes, at all level of details using tools such as Sketch, Invision, Craft, Miro.
  • Iterate on your ideas and designs based on user input and feedback from your team.
  • Document and present your work when necessary.
  • Act on the UX backlog.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments, trends and thinking within digital design and share your knowledge and thoughts with both colleagues and clients.
  • Contribute to Innovation projects.

Your additional leadership responsibilities as Lead: 

  • Help defining, streamlining and structuring excellent design projects and deliveries.
  • Develop a sustainable sprint- and design-thinking method (shared w Product Lead).
  • Drive and maintain an actionable UX Backlog of innovation ideas and problem-to-solve.
  • Collaborate on user research and evaluate user feedback.
  • Drive the definition of roles, functions and way-of-working for the UX team.
  • Drive a user-centered design ethos.
  • Build UX team capabilities by assisting with recruiting and interviewing potential designers.
  • Build out and maintain processes for documenting and communicating key interaction decisions.
  • Facilitate the UX team activities.

Who you are

Besides that you have several years of experience in UX/UI design and a portfolio reflecting a strong design sense and problem-solving skills, we think that you already have some experience leading a team. Additionally, consulting experience is considered valuable.

To be successful in this role we think that you:

  • can explain your design objectively and convincingly in a way that is easy for anyone to understand
  • are staying up to date with Design Thinking and what’s going on in the industry
  • have outstanding communication skills and responsiveness to the people around you    
  • have strong collaboration skills and the ability to create rationales and persuade both the client and the team for a given design direction 
  • are able to frame the problem, to design and communicate a solution, using flow diagrams, wire frames and presentation techniques 
  • can produce interactive Mock up using standard tools (Sketch and Invision) 
  • can deal with multiple requests and with stakeholders at various levels (developers, managers, project leads)
  • are an initiative taker with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • are a problem solver who´s ideas challenge the ordinary

It´s also a plus if you have knowledge in 

  • e-commerce
  • responsive design
  • UX research 
  • product management
  • UX for agile (aka Lean UX)
